For the second time, a Stokesdale Elementary School teacher has been hit with breast cancer.
For the first time in 11 years, Carla Morgan isn?t able to finish out the school year with her students.
Morgan had to have a mastectomy on May 7, is currently going through radiation treatment.
She returned to school Friday to visit students in her kindergarten class to get some ?hug therapy? from her students.
Volunteers have planned two fundraisers to support the single mother of three:
A pancake breakfast Saturday at Stokeridge Tavern at 7607-H NC Highway 68 from 7:30 a.m.?10:00 a.m. and an ?End of Year? party and fundraiser Monday at Oak Ridge Commons from 5:00 p.m. ? 8:00 p.m.
